Recommendations on how to make a ‘spiritual communion’ when you are unable to participate in Mass. Adapt to personal and family needs:
Gather with others in your household and begin a time of prayer with the sign of the cross.
Take time to read and reflect upon the readings from Sunday Mass (available at www.usccb.org/bible/readings). Additionally, a televised schedule of Mass is available at under the “Media” tab of www.doy.org.
Share prayer intentions quietly or aloud.
Pray the Lord’s Prayer.
Offer a prayer for healing, strength, or forgiveness or any prayer available during the coronavirus pandemic. If viewing Mass, offer a prayer during the normal time of Communion.

PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love you above all things and I desire to receive you in my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you as if you were already there
and unite myself wholly to you.
Never permit me to be separated from you.
Amen
